Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence
Specialist joinery from the R.E. Woods & Son workshop

Fitted furniture and joinery

Holt

Holt’s houses are mostly period buildings, and the joinery has to agree with them.

The town is Georgian in character, with flint and brick houses in the streets around the market place and larger homes on the lanes out towards the coast. Fitted wardrobes, studies and freestanding pieces are made to those rooms. So is the architectural joinery: sash windows, doors and panelling.

One Holt commission is published. The portfolio lists heritage sash windows under specialist joinery, and the photograph is a restoration. No street or client is named, and none is invented here.

Other photographs on this page are examples of furniture and joinery from the workshop. They are not labelled as Holt houses.

Pieces are made at the family workshop and fitted in the house. The sequence is on the process page. Timber on the bench is the European oak, walnut and painted hardwood already described on the services page.

Photographs from the workshop

Captions say when a photograph belongs to a named commission. Otherwise it is an example of the work, not a claim about a house in Holt.
